Opera pt. „Romeo i Julia” Charles’a Gounod’a oraz muzyka do baletu pod tym samym tytułem Sergiusza Prokofiewa dowodzą, iż kompozytorzy także nawiązywali do tej tragedii. W czasach późniejszych, gdy rozwinęło i upowszechniło się kino, na podstawie sztuki Williama Szekspira, powstały ekranizacje filmowe reżyserowane przez George’a Cukor’a w 1936, Franco Zeffirelli’ego w 1960,a następnie w 1996r. Za przykład posłużą: „W Weronie” Kamila Norwida i wiersz Haliny Poświatowskiej, pt. „Jestem Julią”, który powstał po śmierci jej męża. Bohaterowie tragedii miłosnej z Werony są młodzi i szaleni, a ich perypetie wywołują w nas wiele, czasem sprzecznych uczuć. Takie wydarzenia mogą spotkać każdego z nas bez względu na czas i miejsce, w którym żyjemy. Czy to widz, czytelnik, czy słuchacz, każdy podziwia metamorfozę głównych bohaterów, ich bardzo wyraźne dojrzewanie emocjonalne oraz poświęcenie dla ogromnej wzajemnej miłości bez względu na konsekwencje. W naszych sercach rodzi się tęsknota i pragnienie tak głębokiego uczucia. Każdy chciałby coś takiego przeżyć, bo kochać kogoś ze wzajemnością to wspaniałe uczucie.
